End of the Year 🎉🎉

 Hello all! 🎉🎉

Yesterday was a very emotional day for most of us, many a tear was shed. It was a wonderful year in grade two and I will miss everyone, but I hope that everyone has a fantastic summer break and enjoys their time off. Next year will be on to grade three, where I am sure everyone will do fabulous and have a great time. 

It has been a great year, thank you to all the students for always showing up to try their best and to all the parents for your continued support. I send my biggest thank you's for all the tokens of appreciation at the end of the year. This was a great class and a great year!

See you all next year in the hallways and the first day of school will be Thursday August 31 😲😝

Friday June 16

 We have grade one buddies next week. 

The last day of in-line skating is on Wednesday June 21. You need socks. 

We are doing our day in the past on Tuesday. 

Tuesday June 13

Skating:

Tomorrow we have SKATING. You NEED SOCKS :)

Please bring your helmet if you have one. 

Library:

Some students have overdue library books- Please bring them back ASAP!

Next week is our Day in the Past on Tuesday- that means you can dress up like you are a student from the past. 

Yearbooks went home today if you ordered one. 

Thurs June 8

 Reminders:

There is no school tomorrow (Friday June 9)

We have in-line skating on Wednesday next week. You NEED SOCKS. 

Please remember to send your child with water and a hat if the weather is very hot. 

Our Learning:

Math: fractions with denominators up to 10, next week we will be reviewing word problems with addition and subtraction 

SLA/ Science: insect research- this week we worked in groups to research a chosen insect/ arachnid/ etc. in Spanish. Next week, we will be turning our research into Spanish Slides on Google Slides. 

ELA/ Social Studies: We are learning and writing about the prairies in our sketch noting journals. Next week, we will begin looking at the past in Alberta/ Schools. 

Gym: We have two more sessions of in-line skating, both on Wednesdays. We will be doing some group games outside- dress for the weather. 

Tues June 6

We have in line skating tomorrow 1:30-2:30. YOU NEED SOCKS TO SKATE! 

No socks = no skating!

We have library tomorrow, but we cannot check out any more books. We will only read in the library. Please return any books you have still!

The Family Fiesta is next week on Thursday after school. 

There is no school next week on Friday, it is a PD day. 

Our Learning:

ELA/SLA/Science: finishing writing and presenting our stuck stories. We are working on researching about insects in Spanish in order to make a research project. 

Social Studies: We are working on the prairies, the animals, plants, crops, etc. that exist in the prairies. We are doing some sketch noting to take notes about the prairies (combination of drawings, writing notes) 

Gym: We are doing soccer outside, and in-line skating on Wednesdays.
